About

Surviving and Thriving

Hello and welcome. My name is Gladys Aguilar and I am a licensed clinical social worker and certified in perinatal mental health. I believe that parents, expecting-parents, or individuals desiring to be parents, often feel alone and misunderstood. The way the transition to parenthood is described to people is often that of perfection and pure joy. While there are certainly many wonderful aspects to raising a child there is also hardship, fatigue, loss of identity, confusion, and overwhelm. The stress and realities of becoming a parent are not discussed enough which leaves people often feeling unprepared and blindsided. This can lead to feelings of depression and anxiety. You are not a failure and it is not your fault. As a mother of two small children I am very familiar with this overwhelm. I am here to provide you with the support, tools, and tailored approach you deserve in order to help you go from mere survival to thriving. I offer services in English and Spanish. I currently offer culturally competent psychosocial evaluations for immigration purposes. The fee is $800 for Hardship Waivers which is a flat rate for the interview and assessment write up. Expedited reports under 15 days is available upon request at additional cost. For over 15 years, I have worked with immigrant children, adults, and families that have struggled with trauma and abuse.
