When the reality of becoming a parent doesn't quite fit the job description

If this resonates with you, you are not alone. 1 in 7 mothers experience depression or anxiety during the pregnancy/postpartum period. As a mental health professional, I've worked with families who need supportive tools to deal with the stress of these life transitions. My role is to help you navigate these uncharted waters and live a happier life.

About

You're not the only one

The reality of becoming a new parent is WAY more challenging than is typically expected. It can be such a lonely journey and yet so many people are feeling the exact same way as you. You want to feel excited about being a parent and experience all the joy and love people keep telling you will magically happen. But instead you feel terrified, doubtful, weepy, and worst of all, like a terrible parent. You look in the mirror and perhaps you no longer recognize yourself. You should know that what you are experiencing is incredibly common. You should know it gets better with help, and I can help you. You want to feel like you again, or a better version of you. A parent that can raise strong and happy children, without feeling like you've lost yourself completely. As a mother of two small children I am very familiar with this overwhelm. I am certified in perinatal mental health and can help you overcome these challenges. You can access 24/7 scheduling for a free consultation to discuss how to make room for supportive and convenient therapy. My clients have told me they appreciate my warm and unpretentious approach in therapy that allows them to get to the root of their problems more efficiently. Give me a call or email to schedule your first appointment! I offer virtual therapy sessions for anyone in California and in-person sessions at my office in Calabasas, CA. I offer services in English and Spanish. I currently offer culturally competent psychosocial evaluations for immigration purposes. The fee is $800 for these evaluations (Asylum, Hardship Waiver, T-Visa, U-Visa, VAWA), which is a flat rate for the interview and assessment write up. Expedited reports under 15 days is available upon request at additional cost. For over 15 years, I have worked with immigrant children, adults, and families that have struggled with trauma and abuse.
